# ‘API Key Missing’ message

 * I’m at the post page, trying to generate TTS for a previously published post.
   When I click the ‘Generate’ link, I get this error message: _API KEY MISSING –
   Please add your ElevenLabs API key in the settings._
 * I previously generated TTS for two posts but deleted the files to make adjustments.
   There were no problems with the initial generation.
 * Tried a new API key. Plugin shows the key as valid and “Connected”. Still getting
   the error.

 * Hi, and thank you for your message.
 * We just fixed this issue (v.1.1.2) where invalid API keys were mistakenly shown
   as valid. This has now been resolved — only valid API keys will now show as “
   Connected”.
 * Please deactivate the key that gives you the message “API KEY MISSING – Please
   add your ElevenLabs API key in the settings” and re-save & validate it. This 
   will perform the correct API check and make sure the API key is valid.
   If you
   have any problems, please let me know.

 * I updated the plugin. Deactivated the key. Created a new one; connected it. Still
   having the same problem.
