# api.wordpress.org very slow

 * Hello everyone,
 * I’m hosting a good amount of wordpress sites on my server, and it works perfect,
   the frontend is really fast, because of a good server setup, and a lovely CMS
   system.
 * The reason why I’m saying that frontend is fast, is because, since 3.3 released,
   my customers and new relic account complains about very slow ‘external websites’
   which refers to api.wordpress.org.
 * What exactly is that used for? Why does it make a request, and is api.wordpress.
   org running on a CDN network or on a datacenter in US?
 * I’ve uploaded a screenshot about the loadtime from the api.wordpress.org and

   around 9K MS delay, mostly loadtime on the backend (because of the api) the loadtime
   between pages are 6-7seconds, sometimes more.

 * The problem is, clearing the cache doesn’t solve the problem, I’m even running
   without caching in my browsers (because of development), so I have it disabled
   generally.
 * I would like to know, if wordpress could solve this, with pushing it to a CDN
   network or something, because it gives really bad ‘user-experience’ that I have
   to wait so long time, when browsing the admin panel.
