# Appearance->CSS Editor is Refusing to Add “Invalid” Code

 * Trying to add a bit of code to my CSS, and it won’t seem to save any code that
   it considers “invalid” — discovered this when trying to add:
 * `-webkit-text-fill-color: transparent;`
 * The class comes back without that line in it. So I just jokingly added:
 * `WUT`
 * outside of any class, and sure enough, it didn’t save. Wrap it in comment tags,
   though:
 * `/* WUT */`
 * and it’s all good. So. The question — is this an “undocumented feature”? Or is
   this something I can shut off?

 * Hi [@fontosaurus](https://wordpress.org/support/users/fontosaurus/)!
 * How and where are you adding this CSS?

 * Using the Appearance -> CSS Editor menu item in the admin interface.

 * That’s not on default installation. What plugin are you using for this?

 * Ah, I bet it’s the CSS Editor in Jetpack. Got so used to installing it that I’ve
   gotten used to the idea that it’s part of the standard install.

 * I was right. This is an issue in Jetpack’s CSS Editor function, and it’s done
   for security reasons. There’s a bug ticket open for it. More info here: [https://wordpress.org/support/topic/css-editor-dumping-invalid-css/](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/css-editor-dumping-invalid-css/)
