I am using the PaymentRequest Gateway for GooglePay and ApplePay.
I am also using Complianz & Pixel Manager for consent/ Google Ads conversion tracking.

Orders/ conversions track perfectly using various payment methods, EXCEPT FOR ApplePay & GooglePay. These track as an ‘Unknown’ source, despite the URL maintaining the tracking data.

I have placed some orders myself, and I am successfully taken to the checkout/order-received/ page upon order completion.

I’ve also tried disabling the Payment Request Gateway and instead enabling ApplePay by itself. I then placed an order and the same thing happens.

I am not 100% sure if this is an issue with Payment Plugins for Stripe WooCommerce OR Pixel Manager, and so have posted in both support forums.

ApplePay and GooglePay are two of the most popular payment methods.
Google Ads is of course one of the largest advertising platforms.
If Google Ads cannot track conversions when someone pays via one of these methods, it creates a huge problem – because it greatly impacts ROAS (as I have last month found out, to the tune of almost £3k!).

To note; when someone pays using ApplePay or GooglePay, not only is the Google Ads (native) conversion not being tracked, but additionally the order is not tracked in GA4.

I have temporarily had to disable these payment methods as a result, but this is far from a long-term solution.

Surely I can’t be the only person having such issue.

Can anyone offer any insight as to how to make them play nice with one another?

    Hi @jeffreeeeey

Thank you for contacting us. The mechanism by which a payment is processed is identical regardless of the payment method. What that means is the same code is used by the Stripe plugin whether it’s a credit card form payment or an Apple Pay payment.

I suspect the Pixel Manager plugin might be relying on something like a click event on the place order button which isn’t always triggered by express payment methods like Apple Pay since they have the ability to populate all of the checkout fields automatically.

I will reply to the thread you created on the Pixel Manager plugin support page and they should be able to provide an explanation of how their tracking works.

    Kind Regards
