Sadly, at the present time, the plugin is still coded specifically for the 1.x version of the plugin. I’ve looked into how to possibly upgrade it to 2.x, but I have yet to find a good clear path for it. The 2.x line is extremely different and they have not provided much documentation at all on how to implement things in the new framework they use.
Shoot, that is really unfortunate. Thanks for your response. Do any of the older versions of the plugin possibly work with the latest WP version? BTW, it worked one time for me. Is it possibly just a slight adjustment to the code? :/
Thanks again for your response. I would be more than grateful for this to work!
We haven’t really done anything with the plugin since I’ve been a part of the company. Last update was 2014-3-8.
The part that’s changed the most would be NextGEN Gallery itself, which our plugin still relies on and extends. I know they have a “Legacy” section that’s meant for the 1.x version of it, but that is likely not super maintained either.
Bummer! Well I appreciate your follow up again. Would you by chance know where I can find the “Legacy” section?
I am sure many others would love the approval system to work with the latest versions of the gallery if there is any chance you and/or your team would be willing to remedy this issue. Thanks again and please keep me updated! 🙂
From what I’ve seen, it’s just the original 1.9 codebase that’s still included in NGG and when necessary, gets run. So it’s not something that you visit and go to to interact with. It just happens to happen.
