Are wordpress checking out themes?

I’m a developer, have handcrafted html, php, css and MySql since 1998. Also a webhost.

Recently, clients have asked for wordpress installations since they want to edit content themselves. Fine.

So, I have installed wordpress and paid themes as per their requests. But none works. Turns out there’s no way to actually edit the themes. Most changes I make, like as simple as adding a logo, fails. In some themes, there’s not even a way to edit/change site header and logo.

I have paid USD80 for themes offered by wordpress. Both claim working with latest WP. Both fail.

Have contacted the developers of the themes for refund or help. One refused refund since I had accepted their conditions when I bought the theme.

The other have had access to the site for several days, trying to fix the problems, but didn’t succeed. Problems remain, They refuse refund.

So, now when I obviously have lost USD 80 to creaters of themes who are scammers/fake/incompetent, it raises a question which I very much like to be answered by wordpress (but, of course, there’s no way to contact wordpress directly)

Do you (wordpress) even check that the themes from all over the world really work with the WP version they claim?
