 * Hi,
 * I noticed just now that the arrow buttons don’t work anymore. Usually when I
   click on the button “>” the next image will be shown or “<” for the previous.
   But I just found out that the buttons don’t respond anymore. Also, the buttons
   only show up when I hover over the image and when I hover over the buttons it
   will disappear.
 * Hope someone can help me out.
 * Many thanks,
    Hazel

 * Hi [@hazy23](https://wordpress.org/support/users/hazy23/)
 * **Arrows don’t work:**
    I inspected the linked page, but I couldn’t find any
   sliders created in Smart Slider 3 there. Anyway these kind of problems can usually
   occur, when there is another element on your site ( with higher z-index ) that
   overlaps the arrows. So when you are trying to interact with the arrow, you actually
   interact with the overlapping element.
 * **Buttons only show up on hover:**
    The problem will most likely be related to
   that, you have the “Shows on hover” option enable under the settings of the Arrow
   control: [https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/71-arrows](https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/71-arrows)
   This will make the arrows only show up only when you hover over the area of slider,
   however the arrow is outside of the slider’s area. If you don’t want this behavior
   you could disable this option.
 * **To fix both problems:**
    You probably have the Arrow control set to an Outer
   position, which will display the arrows outside of the slider’s area: [https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/71-arrows#previous-position](https://smartslider3.helpscoutdocs.com/article/71-arrows#previous-position)
   You should select an Arrow position that is inside the slider’s area like you

 * Thanks for your reply. Apparently I’m usually Smart slider instead of smart slider
   3.
 * Actually I don’t want to see the arrows or thumbnails anymore and the autoslide.
   I just want the image to move to the next image when I click at the right side
   of the image (just inside or outside) and go to previous when I click on the
   left. Do you know how I can achieve this?
 * Thanks,
    Hazel

 * Hi [@hazy23](https://wordpress.org/support/users/hazy23/)
 * On the linked page (the homepage of Hazel Link Photography) there’s no Smart
   Slider 3 sliders published.
 * Anyway, you can disable both the arrows and thumbnails at Slider settings > at
   the bottom: Controls: [https://youtu.be/lsq09izc1H4?t=151](https://youtu.be/lsq09izc1H4?t=151)

   To enable/disable the autoplay, visit Slider settings > Autoplay tab: [https://youtu.be/lsq09izc1H4?t=144](https://youtu.be/lsq09izc1H4?t=144)
 * Unfortunately, we don’t have option to switch slides by clicking on the sides
   of the slider.
 * There are tricks, to achieve that using the Pro version of Smart Slider 3, but
   that discussion is not allowed on these forums as per the forum rules: [https://wordpress.org/support/guidelines/#do-not-post-about-commercial-products](https://wordpress.org/support/guidelines/#do-not-post-about-commercial-products)

   If you’re interested in the Pro version, or the way this could be achieved in
   it, please reach out to us at: [https://smartslider3.com/contact-us/presale-questions/?presale=General](https://smartslider3.com/contact-us/presale-questions/?presale=General)
