 * Downloaded Jetpack (advertised as “Supercharge your WordPress site with powerful
   features previously only available to **WordPress.com** users.”), tried to activate
   it, but it says:
    “Invalid email or username. Remember, you need to sign in with**
   your WordPress.com account**, not your [http://www.raripps.com/blog](http://www.raripps.com/blog)
   account. What’s the difference?”
 * My site is with wordpress.org, the plug in says it is for wordpress.org, yet
   to activate it, I need a wordpress.com account to activate it?
 * Thanks.

 * The Jetpack plugin does indeed require you to connect to a **WordPress.com**
   account to be fully activated on your self-hosted WordPress site.
 * To do so, you will have to create a WordPress.com account here:
    [https://en.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1](https://en.wordpress.com/signup/?user=1)
 * If you had previously created an account, but forgot the password, you can request
   a new password by entering your email address here:

 * Hi Jeremy,
 * Thanks for the reply. I signed up, activated my account, tried to authorize Jetpack,
   but got “Are you sure you want to do this?” in an otherwise empty box, inside
   a larger equally sparse box. No indication of what error or why (other than page
   header WordPress Failure Notice), no other places to click on anything. Any suggestions?
 * Thanks.

 * Can you please use Jetpack’s Debugger module to send us some more information
   about your site?
 * 1) Go to the Jetpack page in your dashboard.
    2) Click on the Debug link appearing
   at the bottom of the page. 3) Click the link that says “click here to contact
   Jetpack support.” 4) Fill in the description box and your name and email address.
   5) Click the “Contact Support” button.
 * Thanks!
