 * I’d like to see a feature where a short form letter asking the recipient to confirm
   that they actually sent a comment/post by responding to a url then comment can
   be posted automatically after confirmation

 * One possible problem is that the system could auto-respond to a spam post, and
   therefore reveal what could be an otherwise fairly spam free email address ?

 * I feel something like this should be created. As it stands now people just passing
   by can comment if they put a fake name/email address. You can set the automailer
   to no-reply so it can’t be reached. I have noticed that many blogs have this 
   function. If you want to lessen spam there are several ways to do this depending
   what kind of server rights you have. Don’t spam control how you go about using
   your site. I have many useful traps set up on my server that have been great.
   Robots get stuck like a fly in a spider web when they try harvesting from my 
   site.
