Auto image resize for Mobile – without changing theme

    I have created a theme with a responsive design which works right down to tiny screens. Now I want to serve resized images to mobiles without changing my theme.

    I have tried several mobile plugins which allow theme switching, and offer mobile themes with reduced image sizes. But none seemed to resize the images when I used my original theme. My theme is already a sub-theme, so I don’t want to port it to another (mobile) subtheme, although I would happily do some php work if someone could indicate a useful tool.

    I think what you are after is EITHER the installation of “Adaptive Images” into your Blog, OR the installation of a WordPress Plugin “WP-Resolutions” which may or may not work. The WordPress Plugin was removed from the ww.wp.xz.cn site due to some sort of Copyright problem I think.

    Adaptive Images was not designed with the PHP of WordPress in mind, and it has been difficult for some to implement in their blogs. It’s my opinion that it should become part of the WordPress Media Uploader, if possible.
