I understand that wp will not fully auto-install 4.3 with it being a major release but,…
That is correct.
Either there is an automatic change going on or I am being hacked. 🙁 I have been hacked previously and the time signature of the file changes are pretty much all the same. These changes have been every 10-15 mins throughout today.
That’s not how automatic updates work so I’d go with someone is trying to hack your site.
Are the files being altered?
Hi Jan,
I have a bunch (40ish) of addon domains sat within the same partition – I know, I’m migrating each domain to it’s own cpanel but it is very time consuming – mistake made a couple of years ago with the initial setup.
So, the folder which is changing is the plugin folder but I can’t track down any file changes. The time signature on the plugins folder is stating that there has been an edit.
I use 1password and have changed passwords. I have reinstalled backups from last week. I’ve updated plugins etc, but the changes are relentless, every few minutes.
Any ideas? Kindest regards, Carl.
I am sorry but it looks like you have been hacked.

Thank you very much. I’ve reinstalled a backup from 10 days ago and the site is clean.
I’ve just checked via ftp and the changes are continuing. What a nightmare…
I’ll have a chat with the server providers and see if we can close some doors.
Thanks for your help. Carl.
A back up won’t help as usually the wp files are not backed up, nor are the files that let them in. Hopefully your host can help.
There are sites out there that can clean and monitor your site for hacks.
