 * Trying to use auto ugrade and have had no issues doing so in the past. I receive
   this message:
 * Warning: copy(D:\Hosting\4614643\html/wp-admin/includes/update-core.php) [function.
   copy]: failed to open stream: Permission denied in D:\Hosting\4614643\html\wp-
   admin\includes\class-wp-filesystem-direct.php on line 131
 * Any ideas?

 * I ran into the same problem helping a friend with his blog. Like his blog, I
   use GoDaddy as my web host but have had no problems with Updates to WordPress
   or Plugins. The difference is he uses Windows (IIS) hosting while I use Linux.
   I suspect most of the users are also on Linux thus the lack of responses. As
   everyone has said, it has to do with changing permissions. I was going to post
   a “How to” myself but I found it is perfectly illustrated on [this blog](http://bit.ly/bHZs2G).
   I’m not security expert but I would heed the advice and change permissions back
   when you are done.
 * One last thing for those who are wondering how do you know if you have Windows
   vs. Linux hosting? The giveaway is in the warning message you get where it tells
   you the absolute path starting with “D:\” (as in “D:\Hosting\4XXXXXXX\html/wp-
   admin/…) which is a Windows convention. No, this is not your local drive like
   others seem to think in this instance.
