# autocomplete + user defined text

 * I did not find the field I need, also the pro subscription does not seem to help.
 * The user should be able to create a list of entries. He / she should be able 
   to chose entries from a predefined options or add custom / user defined entries.
   So the autocomplete field with the ability to define new options on the fly would
   be great. But is this possible?

 * Hi,
 * The field `autocomplete` only supports to select a value from predefined options.
   I’ve created a feature request to support adding a new option to the list options
   if the text does not available in the current list options.
 * If the kind of entries like the taxonomy, you can use the field `taxonomy` or`
   taxonomy_advanced`, it supports an option to add a new one.

 * Thanks for your quick response and the clarification.
    I was not sure if I missed
   such a possibility.
 * Thanks for the hint with the taxonomies. Maybe I can use this functionality for
   a workaround.

 * Hey!
 * Quickly wanted to update you about the usage of the taxonomy_advanced field.
   
   It works great and actually, it is the better choice for our purpose.
 * Besides the meta box field definitions and a custom post type, I registered custom
   taxonomies to be used in the meta box field.
