Hi there @crazydiamond23,
Thanks for reaching out! I’ll be happy to clarify how the Automatic Latest Content works.
The first thing I’d like to note, is that the ALC (Automatic Latest Content) widget is designed for Post Notification emails. Post notification emails are automatically sent when new posts are published on your website or at a specific schedule (e.g., weekly).
The ALC widget automatically picks the latest post that haven’t been sent in previous Post Notification emails. I recommend reading the following related pages from our Knowledge Base:

Automatic Latest Content Widget (FAQ)
If you select a Post Notification email template from templates gallery, the Automatic Latest Content Widget already comes in the template.
But you can always add new ALC widgets to the email template by dragging and dropping into wherever you’d like to display the latest posts as shown in this video: https://d.pr/v/zFibuI
As opposed to Post Notification emails that are designed to be automatically triggered, newsletters are a type of email that you need to manually send or schedule. As for this question:
Also, if I copy this post notification newsletter, will that copy also include the automatic latest content widget that is part of the copied material or will I have to manually add it to the copied newsletter?
When you duplicate an email, whether it’s a Newsletter or a Post Notification email, all content is copied over. Just note that the content displayed by the ALC widget is dynamic. The widget will always show only newly published posts that haven’t been sent before.
I hope this clarifies, but let us know if you have any other questions!
