# Automatic Updates?

 * Hi everyone!
    Apologies in advance if this has already been addressed somewhere.
   We’ve had our blog up since 2006 and, without any action on our part, it has 
   started updating on its own.
 * I just received the following email:
    Howdy! Your site at [http://xxxxxx.com/blog](http://xxxxxx.com/blog)
   has been updated automatically to WordPress 3.8.3.
 * No further action is needed on your part. For more on version 3.8.3, see the 
   About WordPress screen: [http://xxxxxxx/blog/wp-admin/about.php](http://xxxxxxx/blog/wp-admin/about.php)
 * Is this okay, or something I should be concerned about?
 * Many thanks in advance!

 * This has been happening since WordPress 3.7, see if you can get into contact 
   with your hosting providers to check whether they can find out why you hadn’t
   been receiving these email notifications before. They have better tools to find
   out why that could have happened.
