# Automatic wordpress / plugin update doesn't start

 * After a reinstall of the apache / php server automatic wordpress / plugin update
   stopped working on all my wordpress installations.
 * When I try to update I am prompted for my ftp credentials (as before). After 
   I enter the ftp credentials and click update (or more exactly “Fortfahren” (“
   resume”?) as I use the German version) the page reloads but and I get a empty
   page (the admin menu on the top and left side are still there but the place where
   the update progress should show up stays empty).
 * Any ideas? Thanks for any help!

 * Btw: everything else works prefect like before the server update – the automatic
   update is the only problem.

 * Btw 2: empty page means that not even the “Upgrade Plugin / WordPress” headline
   appears. So the failure seams to happen between the input of the credentials 
   and the generation of the headline + downloading message.
