Automatically add gallery shortcode around images

    I set up a blog for my wife and she will be adding images via the android application. I don’t want her to have to mess around with shortcodes. Is there any way to automatically add a gallery shortcode around an image and/or multiple images?

    [gallery]<image1>[/gallery]

    or if there are multiple images:

    [gallery]
    <image1>
    <image2>
    <image3>
    [/gallery]
