Hi there,
That message will appear until the upgrade is finished. It sounds like there’s maybe another plugin preventing the process from finishing. I’d recommend you deactivate all other plugins, then run the update, then reactivate the other plugins again.
Let me know how that goes.
Thanks!

Hi Matt,
I did that. And clicked ” click here to resume the upgrade.” It logged me out automatically again. I noticed under “Add Ons” tab, this Fatal Error under “Default List” —
Fatal error: Uncaught Error: Function name must be a string in /home/lifest54/public_html/wp-content/plugins/give/includes/admin/settings/class-settings-cmb2-backward-compatibility.php:521 Stack trace: #0 /home/lifest54/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(298): Give_CMB2_Settings_Loader->addon_setting_field(Array, ‘f174e4d406’) #1 /home/lifest54/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(323): WP_Hook->apply_filters(”, Array) #2 /home/lifest54/public_html/wp-includes/plugin.php(453): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #3 /home/lifest54/public_html/wp-content/plugins/give/includes/admin/class-admin-settings.php(717): do_action(‘give_admin_fiel…’, Array, ‘f174e4d406’) #4 /home/lifest54/public_html/wp-content/plugins/give/includes/admin/abstract-admin-settings-page.php(181): Give_Admin_Settings::output_fields(Array, ‘give_settings’) #5 /home/lifest54/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(298): Give_Settings_Page->output(”) #6 /home/lifest54/public_html/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(323): WP_Hook->apply_filters(”, Array) in /home/lifest54/public_html/wp-content/plugins/give/includes/admin/settings/class-settings-cmb2-backward-compatibility.php on line 521

Hey @clang777 – it sounds like you’re on PHP7 – in the latest release 1.8.3 the error under Donations > Settings > Add-ons has been fixed.

Hi Devin, I updated the plugin to 1.8.3, and the error in “settings” is gone, but the same problem is occurring with the db upgrade. I get the message at the top of the admin page – “click here to resume the upgrade.” – then the page “Give – Upgrades” page pops up “the upgrade process has started, please be patient…”
Then, as before, after a second or two, the system automatically logs me out and take me to the login page. Please advise.
Hi @clang777 that to me sounds like your site URL doesn’t match with what’s in your database. Are you using HTTPS? If so, is that also reflected in your site URL? Or are you perhaps on a multi-site install?
Let us know a little more about your environment, domain, hosting etc.
Thanks!

HI Matt,
In the settings/General of the admin area, we’ve set the URL to https: for both WordPress (URL) and Site Address (URL). We’re also using Cloudflare that automatically forces the whole site to https. Please advise.
