# AutoPosting Function

 * Hi
    I have onesignal push notifications and nextscripts autopost to social media
   plugins installed that automatically update social media and send push notification
   when I hit post publish. However, when I publish by email via postie, those plugins
   are not triggered. My question is how come hitting the publish button manually
   triggers these plugins and doing it via email by postie does not? Thank you very
   much!

 * Best guess is that they are assuming that the only way the post can be published
   is through the editor UI so they aren’t listening for the post status changed
   events.
 * I expect these won’t work with the REST API either.
 * You should reach out to the authors of these plugins with the same question. 
   I am happy to work with them to make changes to Postie if needed.

 * Looks like I was mistaken. After tinkering with the settings, I got it to work.
