# Autoptime breaks JavaScript

 * When Autoptimize is enabled, I’m enabled to click on “Read more” in comments,
   and the admin banner in WordPress does not have a dropdown menu.
 * If I add “?ao_noptimize=1” to the URL everything works as expected.
 * FYR, somebody reported this issue with the following error:
 *     ```
       Uncaught ReferenceError: jQuery is not defined
           at ?[...]:151
       ```
   
 * But I don’t see it in my console in either Chrome or Firefox (Ubuntu).

 * Thanks that did the trick…
 * I’m quite confused though. I’ve been using autoptimize for a while, and just 
   enabled that option yesterday because I had the issue described here.

 * might you have been experimenting with asyncing JS? because asyncing jQuery will(
   often) result in such problems ..

 * I can’t quite remember what I did, but no modification for async. It turns out
   the comment system has a bug, so it was not related to Autoptimize. Thanks for
   your help.
