# Autoptimize – Total Blocking Time

 * Version (update) 3.1.0 to 3.1.1 on August 15th, increased my Site’s Total Blocking
   Time. I’ve seen this consistently over the last several days using GT Metrix.
 * What should I do to decrease TBT?

 * That’s weird .. there were no significant changes between 3.1.0 and 3.1.1 that
   would explain that change Mike. If you want you can always [download and re-install 3.1.0](https://downloads.wordpress.org/plugin/autoptimize.3.1.0.zip)
   to re-test (and compare the resulting HTML to see what is different)?
 * When testing with Pagespeed Insight I indeed see 1.9s TBT, but of that 1.5s is
   due to 3rd party JS (Recaptcha, Maps are the big culprits):

 * Best approach for Maps would be to use an image of a map and have that link to(
   a page with embedded) Google Maps.
 * Recaptcha is another issue, I have yet to see a good way to render its performance-
   impact less severe .. :-/

 * How do I reinstall a prior version on my site? If I want to re-install ver. 3.1.0,
   would it overwrite all my settings? Would I need to reset everything to what 
   I had previously?

 * Frank, I understand that the embedded map and Recaptcha are not optimal. I did
   not change anything for either when I updated Autoptimize from 3.1.0 to 3.1.1
   but I saw an increase in TBT using GT Metrix.

 * simply download the zipfile and then go to plugins -> add new -> upload
