Currently not but i did some research and it should be possible to implement.

What is your motivation? either smaller size to speed up page generation or saving disk space on the server, or…?

I ask this because i will maintain the original files so it will take more space on the server if you want it to work on lightbox too, that uses full size images.

To make the website or album faster.

If the original pictures are still available for download is ok.

There are many ways to speed up.

Did you configure resize during upload? Photo albums -> Settings -> Photos -> I -> Item 1. Set it to the largest size used in slideshows. Lightbox will use the original source files.

See also Photo albums -> Advanced settings -> Misc -> I -> Item 1: jpg quality. The default is 95, but with 85 you will not see quality decrease, while it reduces filesize significantly.

After changing settings as mentioned above, you can remake all display and thumbnail file on Photo albums -> Settings -> Advanced settings -> Maintenance -> I -> Item 14: Remake

Did you configure wppa caching? (You can try Photo albums -> Settings -> Advanced settings -> System -> I -> Item 41: set to ‘cache wherever possible’, it works when a page is loaded after the first time, and will be cleared whenever needed because of changes in the content. Shortcodes with #me will not be cahced, because they are user dependant.
For admin there are separate cache fies to distinguish from what they may see an can click.

    Wppa caching is very good.

    Thank you, I’ll try this.

It’s crazy what your WP Fotoalbum Plus can do.

Thank you so much for that.
