# Backup – background process – Server Timeout errors

 * Hi there,
 * I’m running Updraft on quite a large site, around 900Mb. The site gets backed
   up daily onto Google Drive.
 * It works great and I don’t have problems with the scheduled backups, but the 
   problem is that when the backup process starts running in the background, it 
   slows down the admin of the site so much, that it’s pretty much unusable for 
   the next couple of hours or so, until the backup process finishes.
 * When I try to work in the backend, I often get server timeout errors as the admin
   just can’t deal with the load.
 * Is there anything I could do about this at all?

 * The usual cause to that is when the server is running low on resources.
