    Hello!

I’m not very computer savvy when it comes to code and html, so bear with me:

    – I have installed the UpdraftPlus plugin.
    – I have tried numerous times to back up my site, but each time it ends up saying “no backup completed” (it also says “not finished” under ‘existing backups’)
    – It would give me this response after varying times with each attempt: sometimes a short while, sometimes longer. But today when I tried again, it actually backed up for the longest time yet and I thought I was out of the woods! Alas, I eventually got the same results
    – I have the backup attached to my Dropbox (basic free version)
    – I have followed all troubleshooting tips UpdraftPlus has offered on here as well as other spots on WordPress, all to no avail

I’m really at a loss here! Very frustrated, too, mainly because I feel like an idiot who is missing some easy, obvious solution.

Any and all help – as detailed as humanly possible – would be much, MUCH, appreciated!

    Hi,

Could you upload the log file for the latest backup? Here’s how:

    • In UpdraftPlus Backups Settings Page->Existing Backups you should find a button to download the log file for each backup. Download your most recent backup’s log.
    • Copy the contents of that file, and paste it into this website: pastebin.com/.
    • Paste the link to that page here.

Pastebin is telling me I exceeded the post size, and WordPress is not allowing me to paste the code in this reply box. What else can we do?

To clarify: I CAN paste the log in this reply box, but when I hit ‘reply’, I am sent back to the main WordPress forum page, and my reply goes unposted.

That’s a large log file. Pastebin will accept up to 512kB. Could you try splitting the log file up, and linking to each piece?

How large is your site? If it is especially big, that could be causing the problem.

Also, if you turned on the ‘debug’ setting, then it’s best to either turn this off, or remove all the [Debug] lines from the log file – we don’t need to see these bits.
