# Backup phpmyadmin inconsistent advice codex

 * Today I found an inconsistency in the codex, about backing up up your database
   using Phpmyadmin.
 * On
    [http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups#Accessing_phpMyAdmin](http://codex.wordpress.org/WordPress_Backups#Accessing_phpMyAdmin)
   it is mentioned that you have to “3 Check the “Complete inserts” box.” In the
   picture below the other checkbox “Use hexadecimal for binary fields” is also 
   checked.
 * However if you go to:
    [http://codex.wordpress.org/Backing_Up_Your_Database](http://codex.wordpress.org/Backing_Up_Your_Database)
   it is mentioned 7. The DATA section Leave the boxes inside this section unticked,
   but make sure to keep the checkbox next to the “DATA” heading checked.
 * So which one is correct? I have always used the second one.

 * Either way is okay actually. Complete inserts will result in a larger backup 
   file.
