 * Too much complications with integration. Why so many problems with settings and
scripts? It’s just a player. After all it doesn’t support external link but uses
a movie existing in other box instead.

 * Hi Jack,
 * Thanks for taking the time to review FV Player. I will answer your questions
   in sequence.
 * > Too much complications with integration.
 * Could you tell us with which integration? Or do you mean deployment?
 * > Why so many problems with settings and scripts? It’s just a player.
 * FV Player is not just a player, it’s an advanced video player with built-in ads,
pre-roll, allowing DRM protection. If you want a basic HTML 5 video player, WordPress
comes with one built-in Media Element. Many people want more advanced video features.
   FV Player offers those features.
 * If you read the other reviews here, you will find that there are many people
who want just those features who are very pleased with both FV Player and the
   support we offer.
 * I am surprised and disheartened to learn that offering features (for free) now
   merits a one star review.

   > box instead.
 * To which functionality are you referring here Jack? Self-hosted or Amazon videos
play within our player directly. If you are referring to YouTube or Vimeo, yes
in the free version of FV Player, for now they show in iframe. In the pro version,
we add both YouTube and Vimeo API support.
 * The cool part about how we are doing it now is that your YouTube and Vimeo videos
will automatically upgrade to the API version once you upgrade to pro. I.e. your
current iframe versions serve as seamless placeholders. Or if you uninstall FV
Player your existing YouTube and Vimeo embeds will continue to work. We strive
always with FV plugins to do no harm to a publisher’s site, neither on install
   or uninstall.
 * We are thinking about adding a basic version of the API version of YouTube and
Vimeo into the free FV Player next time we do a major revision of the plugin
structure (coming soon when we release our standalone PPV – Pay Per View – add-
   on).
 * Thanks, Alec
 * PS. In general giving one star reviews to plugin authors who are offering you
advanced plugins for free is strange **unless** those plugin authors are somehow
sabotaging your website or slowing it down or doing something really evil. Your
review would be more credible if you were to make it a two or three star as there’s
really nothing seriously wrong with our plugin based on your review, except that
it doesn’t work exactly the way you would like it to. I.e. one should grade plugins
based on how that plugin fulfills its self-described mission, not based on one’s
own preconceptions. To take an extreme example, FV Player is a terrible anti-
spam plugin. That’s no reason to give it a one star review as an advanced video
   player.
