# Bar doesn’t close

 * Hi,
 * For some reason, the cookie bar won’t close when clicking on the button. I checked
   the settings, cleared the cache, deactivated all other plugins, tried the twenty
   twenty theme, but can’t get it to work. Everything is up to date.

 * We suspect that you have used a shortcode **[cookie_accept]** in** GDPR Cookie
   Consent > Settings > Customise Cookie Bar > Message **Box. This shortcode will
   not work as we removed it from the plugin a long time ago. To insert an accept
   button please use the shortcode** [cookie_button] **and the button will become
   responsive on the frontend.
