# Basic counter?

 * Is there a way to add some kind of plug-in or hack that would allow me to display
   a basic counter? Doesn’t have to be anything fancy, maybe the only thing is to
   register unique visits rather than hits… but if that’s too much then hits.
    If
   anyone knows anything better, that would work too, but my main interest is to
   be able to see the visits from the front page. Keep in mind that I’m just beginning
   with wordpress, not used to PHP or anything like that (but going to learn it 
   soon). Thanks in advance.

    Otherwise,
   you can use anything available on the web. [Give google a shot.](http://www.google.com/search?q=web+page+counters&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8)
   You can use any of the available free services in conjunction with WordPress,
   just like any other web page.

 * I use txthit which has worked nicely. Uses php and is nice and simple.
