# Basic help – Changing the slider

 * Hello:
    I am running WP 4.0 on my site ([http://www.socciandassociates.com](http://www.socciandassociates.com))
   and trying to modify the slider.
 * I am looking online through documentation and keep going to my “customize option”(
   [http://www.socciandassociates.com/wp-admin/customize.php](http://www.socciandassociates.com/wp-admin/customize.php))
   and cannot seem to find where / how to add photos to modify the slider.
 * Can someone please direct me? Thank you.

 * I have the same problem, and I went to the Dashboard – Appearance – theme options
   page and found nowhere to edit the slider except to change the slider from the
   default, ThinkUpSlider, to ‘Custom Slider/Disable’. There is also a mysterious(
   to me) field for ‘shortcode’ “Homepage Slider Shortcode
    Input the shortcode 
   of the slider you want to display. I.e. [shortcode_name].”

 * ah figured it out, thinkupslider has to be selected, however, now that I added
   a slider image, it is much too big and stretched.
 * Is there a way to make the slider smaller or to create images in the proper size
   for the slider.
