# Basic Plugin Questions

 * How do I give a specific path to a plugin folder, and have it recognized? I don’t
   want to use the default path. I changed
    `define('PLUGINDIR', 'wp-content/plugins');`
   to `define('PLUGINDIR', 'http://sitename.com/wp-content/plugins');` and deleted
   ABSPATH . in front of each PLUGINDIR in wp-settings.php, but I just get the message“
   Couldn’t open plugins directory or there are no plugins available.” even though
   the folder is readable and writable.
 * What file gives the command that plugins be installed under wp_options?
