# Basic site with form

 * Hi,
 * I’m looking to create a basic site with static pages but have a form to be completed
   on the site that I can update the question criteria and also receive the data
   through once the form is submitted.
 * Does anyone know of any templates that would be suitable?

 * the basic path to search is ?q= so myurl.com/?q=searchtext
 * so any basic form will do see [http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_search_form](http://codex.wordpress.org/Function_Reference/get_search_form)
 * You may also be talking about an auto complete search form, so take a look at
   WP Search AJAX plugins, alternatively you could use a select box for default 
   search criteria

 * With regard to a theme, any of the theme in [http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/](http://wordpress.org/extend/themes/)
   should be OK. The form will, however, require a plugin. Perhaps a basic contact
   form like [http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/contact-form-7/](http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/contact-form-7/)
   would suffice? If not, have a look at [http://www.gravityforms.com/](http://www.gravityforms.com/)
   It’s a premium plugin but will allow you to build complex, interactive, forms
   for your site.
