Title: Basic Slideshow Flash/jQuery problem Last modified: August 21, 2016 --- # Basic Slideshow Flash/jQuery problem * [OttlaK](https://wordpress.org/support/users/ottlak/) * (@ottlak) * [11 years, 11 months ago](https://wordpress.org/support/topic/basic-slideshow-flashjquery-problem/) * I have a problem in adding a slideshow to my theme’s template (custom theme) using the jquery option in gallery settings -> NextGEN Basic Slideshow * If I set “Flash Slideshow” to “no” I am able to insert a slideshow to a post with the shortcode [ngg_images gallery_ids=”9″ display_type=”photocrati-nextgen_basic_slideshow”] The slideshow works just fine without Flash. * If I add the slideshow to my theme using though, nothing happens, the slideshow won’t show up. * When I then set “Flash Slideshow” to “yes” the slideshow shows perfectly but I want to display it without using Flash. * I add it to a div inside the body section of my template to show up in the header of every page. * The URL of the page is [http://www.berliner-alphornorchester.de](http://www.berliner-alphornorchester.de/) * Any ideas? Funny thing is, the slideshow is working in jquery mode in a post just not in the template. * Could the javascript loading via wp-header and wp-footer cause this sort of problem? For example should I load all scripts in the header rather than in the footer? I’ve tested similar code in a few themes without any issue. It worked perfectly in both modes inside a post a few days ago. * So I’m pretty sure it must be some problem with my WP installation or some other conflict. I’ll try to take the site offline and experiment with a default WP theme. Also check to ensure the NextGEN Gallery JavaScript and CSS are being loading correctly into the footer of the site (usually related to the theme’s use of `wp_footer()`). * – Cais.
