 * I want users to be able to bid without having to register through wordpress,
   is this possible? I see there is a setting that says “allow users to bid without
   login as well” but it doesn’t seem to work. Is this a paid feature only, or am
   I doing something wrong?
 * The page I need help with: _[[log in](https://login.wordpress.org/?redirect_to=https%3A%2F%2Fwordpress.org%2Fsupport%2Ftopic%2Fbids-without-registration%2F%3Foutput_format%3Dmd&locale=en_US)

 * Side note [@nitesh_singh](https://wordpress.org/support/users/nitesh_singh/)
   Off forum contacts have gone horrifically bad for some of our users here. Please
   keep support in these forums and not send the user off site or for email contact.
 * If that’s a problem for you then please re-evaluate why you are hosting your
   plugin on this site.

 * Hi [@jdembowski](https://wordpress.org/support/users/jdembowski/) ,
 * I have noted your point. I do have one question though related to problems that
   one of my user is facing. Kindly read and provide your insight.
 * [@talen256](https://wordpress.org/support/users/talen256/) is facing a problem
   where one of our feature is not working as expected and I think it might be due
   to conflict with some other plugin. In scenario’s like this, we need to ask site
   access (WP admin and sftp) to debug which plugin’s code is conflicting and resolve
   the issue.
    - Can we ask for these details? If yes, then users wont be comfortable in sharing
      such details in public forums like this and thus there is a need to ask them
      over email?
    - If we cannot ask for these details, I know you might recommend asking for
      setup details like what all plugins are installed, which theme etc, but that
      practically does not help reproduce the issue in-house and resolve and suggest
      back the fix to customer. This approach is not workable. Hence again hands
      get tied up.
    - IMO, please device a way where users and developers can share sensitive information
      to resolve this issue asap.
    - I would like to hear your opinion and approach to cater such difficulties.
    - Regards,
       Nitesh

 * You do not and now I feel better for redacting the last 14 months of your replies
   where ever you ask for off forum contact. All of your email asks have been archived
   for that time.
 * I have flagged your account temporarily. That just means that your post will
   need to be approved and @ notifications from you will not work.
 * There are many ways to get information you need and accessing the user’s site
   is not one of them. That’s going too far.
    - Ask for a link to the [http://pastebin.com/](http://pastebin.com/) log of
      the user’s web server error log.
    - Ask the user to create and post a link to their `phpinfo();` output.
    - Ask the user to install the [Health Check plugin](https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/health-check/)
      and get the data that way.
    - Walk the user through [enabling WP_DEBUG and how to log that output to a file and how to share that file.](https://codex.wordpress.org/WP_DEBUG#WP_DEBUG_LOG_and_WP_DEBUG_DISPLAY)
    - Walk the user through basic troubleshooting steps such and disabling all other
      plugins, clear their cache and cookies and try again.
    - Ask the user for the step-by-step on how they can reproduce the problem.
 * You get the idea.
 * Volunteer support is not easy. But these forums need to a safe place for all
   users, experienced or new. Accessing their system that way is a short cut that
   will get you into real trouble in these forums.
 * If you need to contact the moderators about this then you can do so via the Slack#
   forums channel.
 * To use that channel you need a Slack account. You can obtain one via these instructions.

 * To be clear: You risk your account and plugin on this site if you repeat this.**
   Do not ask any user for admin or back end access again, not here, not on email,
   not on your site again.**
 * These users are not your customers and do not make the mistake of treating them
   like they are. It is not the same relationship at all and if that’s a problem
   for you then close your plugins on this site. The plugins team can help you with
   that.
