# Blank error log

 * The info says that it automatically finds the PHP error log.
 * Does the log have to be enabled somewhere else, or can this be manually set, 
   as all I have is a blank log screen ??

 * The plugin gets the log file name from the “error_log” setting in php.ini. You
   can also configure up a custom log file elsewhere (e.g. in wp-config.php), in
   which case it should automatically use that file.
 * Is the dashboard widget completely blank, or does it say something like “The 
   log file is empty”? If it’s blank, then either there’s a bug of some kind, or
   your log file contains nothing but whitespace (which is unlikely).

 * Sorry it says “The log file is empty”
 * I am just a little surprised that this would be the case. I will track the other
   settings.

 * That’s uncommon, but not necessarily a bug. If your site is brand new or particularly
   well-configured (e.g. no broken/outdated plugins and so on), it’s entirely possible
   for the PHP error log to be empty.
