# blank screen instead single.php/page.php

 * I am attempting to activate a new installation of WordPress. (Not my first) The
   following problem is occurring with two different themes, very few plugins. I
   am using a static Front page.
 * I write a post or a page, save it. If I try to view a page from a menu tab, all
   I get is a blank page. Same thing for posts, if I try to view them by category
   or click on recent posts. I know the posts and pages are in the database because
   If I make any one of them part of the static Front page, it appears correctly.

 * I can start the whole thing over, but I am wondering which of the database (MySQL)
   or faulty WP files is causing this. Or is it something else?

 * Have you tried:
 * – deactivating **all** plugins to see if this resolves the problem? If this works,
   re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).
 * – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems?

 * I deactivated all the plugins (even akismet) and still have the problem. I switched
   to the default theme and still have the problem. I will just do a fresh install,
   I guess. But I was hoping to find out what the heck is happening.
