 * Hi!
 * Back with another question, I saw 5 months ago a thread started that talked about
   nested blocks, has this been developed? I would like to create a block like the
   default Gutenberg block “Columns” where a user can add blocks within the main
   block.
 * Thanks!

 * Hi [@sunhawk](https://wordpress.org/support/users/sunhawk/). No, we haven’t yet
   built that functionality. You can follow this discussion here: [https://github.com/getblocklab/block-lab/issues/157](https://github.com/getblocklab/block-lab/issues/157)

 * Thanks for the link [@lukecarbis](https://wordpress.org/support/users/lukecarbis/)!
   Finally got a chance to read it through.
 * Given that the last update on the discussion was in July, has anything changed
   since then, is it on your list of items to work on?
 * I think it would be super useful to be able to nest blocks like that, not just
   for columns, but it could be used to control other layout elements such as wanting
   to have a section with a different background and also a block that evokes the
   sort of stuff we usually use shortcodes for, ie a specific arrangement of icon
   and label, or a self-contained little scripted animation.
 * The existing WordPress Gutenberg columns uses their own wordpress-y named column
   classes and it would be very useful to be able to create my own column blocks
   that can be named to work with a bootstrap setup, etc.

 * [@sunhawk](https://wordpress.org/support/users/sunhawk/) It’s definitely on our
   radar, but doesn’t have the highest priority right now.

 * Good and not good to hear. For me this is a highly needed core feature. If you
   need a use case: tab systems. Usually you don’t just put text in tab system but
   images and other stuff within a layout. There are plugin collections that offer
   tabs with freenestable content but for me the idea about block lab was to build
   own blocks and not be depended on various other bloated block collections.
    Until
   now I thought that its just too difficult to implement.
