 * Hi guys,
 * I am incounting some issues when trying to edit a page. When I click on edit
   page I get a format error (see screenshot attached) – [https://imgur.com/JGBwfmq](https://imgur.com/JGBwfmq)
   (
   [https://lauraperezmacho.com/](https://lauraperezmacho.com/))
 * The error started after a instead of the GDPR plugin, which also deleted the
   admin rights to access the website. I restored the admin rights via myPHP. However
   once getting back into WP-Admin and wanted to edit a page, we now get the above
   mention block widget error. (GDPR plugin has been deactivated and removed from
   WP)
 * Beside that, I am now also getting a HTTP 500 error, my webserver is going 100%
   on memory, and the error-log tells me PHP Fatal error also. None of this was
   present before the install of the GDPR Plugin. If the HTTP 500 error is related
   to the block widget error, I am not sure about. However I would really appreciere
   your help is getting the block widget to work again. We have tried installing
   the classic widget, but it gives same error.
 * Also did all the basic by disabling all plugins and themes, clear cache, resetting.
   htaccess file is not making any difference, also used default WP theme, but not
   working there either unfortunately.
 * Best
    Lars

 * Hi, [@ozzythecat](https://wordpress.org/support/users/ozzythecat/):
 * Sorry to hear about the issues you’ve been experiencing.
 * Based on your description, it seems that the plugin may have affected files it
   shouldn’t have. To verify this, would you check for JavaScript console errors
   on the post edit screen? For example, in Chrome:
    1. Navigate to the page (in your screenshot), and open Chrome’s **View > Developer
       > Developer Tools** menu.
    2. In the window that opens, select the “Console” tab and check for errors.
 * What kind of errors show up in the console window?

 * Hi, [@ozzythecat](https://wordpress.org/support/users/ozzythecat/):
 * It looks like you’ve taken several troubleshooting steps. Please refer to this
   list in case there was something you may have missed:
 * [https://wordpress.org/support/category/troubleshooting/](https://wordpress.org/support/category/troubleshooting/)
 * If you’ve already covered those bases, and you’re comfortable with it, then you
   may consider re-installing WordPress.
 * As always, before performing updates, it is strongly recommended that you back
   up your site. I run a backup before even the most minor plugin updates 😅 This
   article has some good tips:
 * > [WordPress Backups](https://wordpress.org/support/article/wordpress-backups/)
 * Finally, take a look at this support page, which covers updating/re-installing)
   WordPress. You should be able to do a “one-click” update/re-install, but the
   article also includes instructions for replacing the files manually, if needed:
 * > [Updating WordPress](https://wordpress.org/support/article/updating-wordpress/)
 * After that, check the page editor again and let me know if this helped. It wouldn’t
   hurt to clear your cache to be sure all the latest files are loaded.
