# Blocking Stopped

 * When I first installed the plugin, automatic blocks were happening for bad login
   attempts. I could see the blocked IPs under Firewall > Blocking.
 * Two days later, all blocking stopped. The report says “No blocks are currently
   active.”
 * How do I get blocking to start again?

 * Thanks for reaching out!
 * Can you please confirm that you have had people blocked in live traffic?
 * The blocking page only shows people who are currently blocked.
 * If you never made the original blocked users blocked forever, they would have
   been unblocked by now.

 * Thanks I see blocked users in live traffic. Should I make those blocked forever
   instead of only 12 hours? What’s a good option here?
 * Also, I read that it’s a good idea to block anyone who tries to access xmlrpc.
   php because it’s a hacker. Should I add that somewhere in Wordfence? And do you
   agree?

 * Its really up to you, I recommend blocking for a few days rather than forever
   as some user may be legitimate.
 * Blocking anyone to xmlrpc.php isn’t the best idea as some good bots and other
   applications need access to it, if you block everything things can break
