    The linked page on this post has some invalid breadcrumb information that I would like to remedy.

    {"@type":"ListItem","position":2,"name":""}

    I see that this is a relatively common issue, but unfortunately I’ve been unable to resolve it using information found in previous posts. The page /does/ have a title, and I’ve filled out all information (other than the meta description so far) for the page Yoast SEO plugin settings.

    This issue exists after cache is cleared as well.
    I am running the latest version of the plugin.

    I’m unsure of how to proceed from here.

    Any help would be appreciated!

  • @tmckamey We’re sorry to hear you are experiencing this issue on your site.

    Can you confirm you are using WordPress 5.8.1? You can check by clicking on the W in the top left and selecting About. If you need to update, please check with your host provider. Please know that if you are using an older version of WordPress Core you may experience unexpected behavior with Yoast. This guide explains more: https://yoast.com/why-we-dont-support-old-wordpress-versions/

    If you update to the most current version of WordPress and Yoast SEO, does this resolve the issue?

    If you have already confirmed it is up to date and the issue is still occurring, can you please try the following?:

      1. Install & activate the Yoast Test Helper plugin
      2. Go to Tools -> Yoast Test
      3. Hit the “Reset Indexables & Migrations” button
      4. Under SEO → Tools, click the “Start SEO Data Optimization” button.

    @devnihil, Hello! I appreciate your response.

    I’ve gone through and confirmed that this site is, in fact, running the latest version of WordPress (5.8.1). I’ve also installed the Yoast Test Helper plugin and ran the steps that you specified. Unfortunately, however, the issue is still occurring.

    Any other tricks in the bag?

    Hi @tmckamey

    Would it be possible for you to check if you can edit this particular page and add a breadcrumb title in the advanced tab of the Yoast SEO meta box and see if this fixes the issue?

    You can refer to this article for more information – https://yoast.com/help/the-breadcrumbs-title-setting/

    Hello @mikes41720,

    I’ve looked over the article that you’ve included, but unfortunately I am not seeing the option in question. I’m under the advanced settings for the page, and I see the “Allow search engine to show this Page in search results?”, “Should search engines follow links on this Page”, “Meta robots Advanced”, and “Canonical URL” options. However, I do not see the Breadcrumbs Title field.

    I apologize if I’m missing something!

    @tmckamey

    If you don’t see the Breadcrumb title, could you please check if the breadcrumb option is disabled in the settings? i.e. SEO > Search Appearance > Breadcrumbs(tab). It should be enabled.

    Hi @suascat_wp,

    I will not be back in the office until Monday, but I will check then and send an update. Thank you!

    Hi @suascat_wp,

    I’ve enabled the Breadcrumbs, and then added a title to the page under the Advanced options. However, this has not resolved the issue.

    Hi @tmckamey

    Just to clarify, this issue is occurring only for your /blog/ page, correct? Is this a standard WordPress page?

    We understand you’ve enabled the breadcrumbs, edited the blog page, and have added a breadcrumb title. After saving the changes, would it be possible for you to reset the indexables again using the Yoast Test Helper plugin and re-running the SEO data optimization process (following the steps in our earlier reply) and see if this fixes the issue?

    We are going ahead and marking this issue as resolved due to inactivity. If you require any further assistance please create a new issue.
