Hi @robertellisit,
Thank you for testing the plugin.
I’ll debug and see if I can pinpoint the reason why GeodDirectory stops working.
I’ll let you know when I find a solution for this.
Hi @robertellisit
I was looking into your issue and it really broke for me. Even though after publishing I see errors (you probably just see a white screen) the place get’s published.
I dived in their code and I have an idea of why it breaks, but not a conflict with our plugin. I’ll still reach out to them to see if we can get this sorted out.
From my investigation into their code, I pinpointed my problem to a geodir_default_location not being set on the database. So I went to the plugin options and added a default location.
That fixed it for me. Not sure if that is a viable temporary fix for your specific case but that is what I could gather from looking at their code and the errors I was getting on my end.
Either way, even if I saw errors the places were still being published.
I’ll update you if they ever reply to me about this.

Hi Fernando,
I have a default location set.
FYI I also have all the optional geodirectory plugins installed so maybe a conflict with one of those?
I do not see a white page – instead the user is returned to their account overview (as expected) but the new listing is missing.
Cheers,
Bob
Wait, so you are creating places as a logged in user instead of an admin like I did?
Can you give me a step by step guide to replicate your issue and all the GeoDirectory plugins you have installed with versions?
I really want to get to the bottom of this.
Hi @robertellisit,
We’ve released a new version of the plugin and I removed one functionality that was causing issues for me after I tried improving it to be actually useful.
Can you try the new version and let me know if GeoDirectory is still breaking for you?
Hi @robertellisit,
It’s been a few days without feedback.
I’m going to assume that this is not a problem for you anymore and mark this as resolved.
Feel free to reopen this if this is still an issue for you.
just a thought, Geo Directory has an add on called GD Booster which I believe is a cache add on so it might be related to that issue – @robertellisit mentioned he had all add ons installed above.
I have a geo directory website to get ready for GDPR but haven’t started that one yet – I don’t use there GD booster though – will report back if I get any issues.
I had another issue with a different plugin and turning off GD Booster fixed that problem. While GD Booster makes a slight difference, ensuring gzip is enabled is way more important. I’ll test out whether this is the cqse with this plugin too later today.
