# Bug | Cache Deleted When Reactivating Plugin

 * Hi there,
 * I just noticed that when we deactivate/reactivate your plugins (free and premium)
   to perform internal tests or troubleshooting, all of our cache files are deleted.**
   Not good.**
 * Can you kindly look into this and provide a quick fix? (i.e., patch).

 * no, sorry. Sometimes, users believe that pages continue to be served from the
   cache even after deactivating WP Fastest Cache. Therefor, we need to do it.

 * Unfortunately, I do not agree with your approach or philosophy.
 * The best way to address both my finding and your concern is to add a new Settings
   box, labeled “Complete Uninstall” ([details](https://prnt.sc/SJNafqhkC5NS)).
 * The above agrees with the philosophy followed by many other high-quality plugin
   developers. Further, why would you support users who want to delete/stop using
   your plugin over those who find it beneficial?

 * No need to add the option, but honestly, cache / cache files should be deleted
   ONLY if the plugin is deleted (not when simply deactivated). Other, popular cache
   plugins behave this way.

 * If you don’t mind me asking, please update your plugin code to ensure it does
   not delete cached files when your plugin is deactivated/reactivated? (only when
   your plugin is deleted)
 * **Benefits**:
    1. Cache is not lost when it’s necessary to deactivate plugins (including yours)
       for site testing or troubleshooting purposes.
    2. UX is not deteriorated.
    3. Eliminates long cache build-up times (especially when not using a CDN or using
       a sub-bar host).
    4. Your 1M+ customers will thank you 🙂
