# Bug? Saving failed: AJAX call failed: error – Internal Server Error.

 * Saving failed: AJAX call failed: error – Internal Server Error. Try again while
   holding down the “Shift” key.
 * I do not beleive that this error is related to table size nor a server security
   issue as has been suggested elsewhere. I believe this is a tablepress generated
   error. It does not generate an apache error and the application error log is 
   not showing any error message which is relating to my website. If it is related
   to a server security setting this is not evident on the server side.
 * The bug? is in the TablePress Extension: DataTables Buttons plugin.
 * If you deactivate this plugin the table save does not generate the error. If 
   you activate the plug in it generates the error but does not generate a server
   error.
 * Until this is fixed the work around I am using is:
 * – deactivate the plug in
    – save the table – activate the plug in

 * thanks for your post, and sorry for the trouble.
 * I can’t really believe that the TablePress DataTables Buttons Extension is causing
   this. It works purely on the frontend and has nothing to do with the saving on
   the backend…
    For me, this actually does indicate that this is the PHP Memory
   Limit issue, and the Extension just happens to be the “unlucky” plugin that brings
   the memory above the limit.
 * If possible, I’d like to take a direct look at this on your site. Could you therefore
   please get in touch via email (the address is in the main plugin file “tablepress.
   php”)? That way, I can investigate this directly. Thanks!

 * Hi,
 * Thanks! I was able to log in and could confirm the problem.I’m not exactly sure
   what the cause is, but the issue is related to the update checker of the DataTables
   Buttons Extension (as it’s not hosted on wordpress.org, it checks the tablepress.
   org server for updates).I’ve now turned that off in the plugin, so that you can
   now leave it activated while editing tables 🙂
