 * Hi, I installed WordPress today and find it to be very useful integrated into
   a website I’m building.
 * I modified the CSS a bit, and now my menu is a bit ‘buggy’ in certain browsers(
checked in on Firefox and Netscape on Mac OS X). For instance, the search doesn’t
   work.
 * I didn’t alter any structural elements of the menu other than moving the div
   tags.
 * the site is up at:

 * Any quick hints or suggestions?

 * Your CSS isn’t valid. Cleaning it up may fix the problem, or at the very least,
   make it easier to diagnose/fix.

 * thanks! I validated it and things are working better (although it still takes
a few clicks to get the ‘search’ button to work…not sure if I’m the only one
   having this problem here?)

 * That happens sometimes with CSS buttons. I just hit the ‘enter’ key all the time.

 * yeah, css is quite an interesting sort of beast to figure out all the little
   intricacies (sp?)..
 * Actually, one ‘final’ question, after validating the CSS for the menu I found
it doesn’t work on Mozilla in Windows!
 * It’s these little things that drive me nuts….

 * I’d jump to say “no possible”. Mozilla in WIndows runs the same exact rendering
engine as Mozilla in Mac OSX. Are you sure the setting on the Windows Mozilla
are any different than your Mac copy? Maybe you need to empty the cache?

 * I emptied the cache….The settings should be the same, there isn’t anything I
did to affect how it would render css, for instance.
 * Does Mozilla do anything weird with absolutely positioned divs? This is the only
   thing I can think of.

 * I don’t believe so, at least I’ve never seen any problems. Are you using the
   latest version of Mozilla (v1.7.3)?

 * Yep, v1.7.3 of Mozilla and Version 1 of Firefox..If you have a Windows machine
running it would be great to see if you’re getting the same thing I am –

 * I do have an old PC lying around. It has FireFox v1, but it doesn’t have Mozilla
and I’m stuck on 56k until next week (finally!). But, if I get some time tomorrow,
I’ll fire up the ‘ol 1 hour download and see what Mozilla shows of your site.
Still, it’s rather confusing. Mozilla’s rendering engine is exactly the same
on all platforms, and FireFox’s rendering engine is very similar to Mozilla’s.

 * ok, thanks, that would be fantastic…I’m hacking away with EnginSite Editor for
PHP while on the holidays. Hopefully I’ll figure it out.

 * p.s. when i changed the positioning to ‘relative’ it was fixed…but this is still
odd b/c it doesn’t look right when it’s relative, the positioning is all off.
 * arrrrgh.
