 * My first blog site. Built from scratch. I couldn’t find a static three column
   static layout that I liked so here is what i came up with

 * It’s fine except it doesn’t fit inside an 800 wide screen (without a horizontal
   scrollbar).

 * Some people whose eyesight isn’t the best often set their screen resolutions 
   lower than 1024×768 so they can see better. I realize browsers scale text nowadays,
   but when possible, it’s good to design for the 800×600 crowd. Not only that, 
   quite a number of folks on large monitors (like myself, with a 22-incher), don’t
   always have their browsers maximized.

 * Too much contrast in the background for me. First thing my eyes did was squint
   to compensate.

 * I agree with the contrast, it’s hard on the eyes. If you’re intent on black, 
   red and white, perhaps soften the white to something like:
    #FCFCF5
 * soften the bg to more grey or charcoal.

 * About 1 in 4 people on the internet use a 800×600 resolution. Don’t forget that
   it is the default resolution even on Windows XP and many people do know know 
   or care how to change that. So yes, you do need to take that into account.
 * Did you take a look at my Neptune theme? What did you not like about that? Or
   what are you looking for in a theme? (Maybe that will give me some ideas for 
   a next theme…)

 * Also for me, it’s to much contrast.
 * Anyway your layout does not validate as XHTML 1.0 transitional as it is noted
   in the header of the HTML file.
 * The listed categories on the right are running out of space and so the “Newsletter”
   category just fits on my screen but may not if for other users.

 * I just checked my stats and ~7%of my visitors have 600×800.
 * The rest run higher. I have not seen the neptune theme.
