 * The Bulk Optimizer stops process on the position where a not supported file (
   gif)will be found.
    All the other files are failure indicated

 * I found the bug!!!
    The reason is not the file type Some time ago I used the 
   WP function all images should be stored in a structure year/month. The folder
   structure will then be …/upload/year/month Later one I changed this option, this
   means all images now are in the upload folder without subfolders. If the bulk
   optimizer is used the plugin is **only working with the actual configured file
   structure**.

 * May be the name function was not correct!!!
    Correct is: Settings – Media -Organize
   my uploads into month- and year-based folders
