    Hi guys,

I am very sorry to bother you with this one but i am such a newbie and I just don’t seem to understand how this works. I am trying to get one of my max buttons to open an image in lightbox (WP lightbox 2 plugin).
here is my button shortcode and the link to the image:
    [maxbutton id=”7″ text=”PADI, SSI or CMAS ?” url=”https://reeflexdivers.com/wp-content/uploads/2017/06/PADI-SSI-CMAS.png”%5D
I am guessing for you it is obvious that it does not open the image in lightbox. What am I missing ? Should I put anything in the custom rel tag of the button setting ? Please help.

    Hi,

You will probably have to indeed add a rel or a class to the button to make it work with lightboxes. Every plugin works a bit different, so please check the documentation of your lightbox plugin.

If this article is correct, you need to use the custom rel tag. You can find it in the button editor under ‘advanced’ tab. Just put ‘lightbox’ ( without the quotes ) in the box and see if that works.

    Thanks Bas,
Easy as pie … dunno why I wanted it to be more complicated, it works like a charm !
For those of you using MaxButtons plugin with the WP lightbox 2 plugin you need to add “lightbox” without the quotes in the custom rel tag field of the MaxButtons you want to use to open a lightbox (as mentioned by Bas above).
Thanks a bunch for the quick support, you deserve your five star rating from me !
