# Button shortcodes not taking effect

 * I’m trying to change button colors using shortcodes.

 * And here is a button:

       ```
   
 * For the button shortcodes, I made them all transparent except “Button Gradient
   Top Color” and “Button Gradient Bottom Color” which are red.
 * As you can see the buttons are not red!
 * The colors are saved in that I can logout out and log back and the settings are
   still red but they are not red in the preview or the live page.
 * I’m using the latest version of everything.
 * UPDATE:
 * I’m using a child theme of the evolve theme. I edit the button shortcodes when
   the child theme is active and they have no effect. I then switch to the stock
   evolve theme, and the button codes take effect there!
