 * My host (WP Engine) contacted me saying that the cache folder for Auto Optimize
   is getting out of control. Is there anyway to stop the cache from growing so
   much and or purge it automatically to prevent it from growing?

 * disabling aggregation of inline JS is the easy solution qwik3r, alternative being
   to look for specific inline JS that is busting the cache and excluding that.
   [see FAQ](https://wordpress.org/plugins/autoptimize/faq/) for some more info.
 * hope this helps,
    frank
