 * Can you choose to pre-load ONLY new content say from the last month or two months
   as the site currently has 42k posts and that is way to much to cache

 * Hi,

 * No, this is not possible out of the box. If you’re a developer or have a developer
   who works on your site, you could make a small plugin preload the posts you need.
 * > then we have cache removed when I update a widget? whats up with that
 * Most of the times, widgets are used in sidebars which are present across the
   whole site. So for the changes done in a widget to be applied everywhere, the
   best solution is to purge the cache.

 * Most likely because of actions such as the above.
 * In your case, if you have 42k posts, preloading might not be the right solution,
   unless if you can customise it to fit your needs.
 * But as a user visits a page which is not cached, it will be cached for the next
   visitor. That way your cache will build as people (or bots) visit your posts.
 * Marc.
