# Cache Randomly Clearing Itself

 * The title is just a theory but what keeps happening is after we clear our cache
   we will receive a 404 on those files after roughly 24 hours. I am unsure as to
   why we are randomly receiving 404 errors on those minified files. Not sure if
   this is a known issue or not. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

 * FVM will auto purge during updates, when you change themes or uninstall/install
   new plugins.
 * If you see error 404 on your browser, that means your server probably has a cache
   somewhere, hence it will be still pointing to the old files after they are deleted.
 * The solution, would be to purge FVM and then purge the page cache (could be a
   plugin or on the server side).
 * If you have a cache on the server that cannot be purged by FVM, you can avoid
   those 404’s by selecting the option to preserve cache files on the plugin settings.

 * Thanks for the fast response! I found the settings. Didn’t realize that was added
   in one of the updates. That should definitely help the problem. Thanks!
